A System Administrator is responsible for maintaining and managing IT infrastructure to ensure server stability, performance, and reliability. The role includes managing cloud environments, networks, security systems, and containerized workloads, as well as monitoring systems, handling incidents, implementing backup and recovery solutions, and automating operational tasks to improve efficiency and service continuity.
- Key Tasks & Responsibilities:
Server availability, health, performance, and reliability across a multi-cloud environment.
Managing and scaling containerized workloads in production.
Identity, access, and authentication systems.
Network infrastructure including firewalls, DNS, VPN, routing, and access controls.
Monitoring, alerting, logging, and infrastructure visibility.
Backups, failover readiness, replication, and resilience planning.
Incident response from detection to resolution and postmortem.
Automation and scripting to reduce repetitive manual work.
